A while ago, I wrote an article about a 3D printing vending machine. A team of students at the Virginia Tech’s College of Engineering came up with the awesome idea to combine 3D printing with a vending machine.

Now, three U.C. Berkeley students (David Pastewka, Richard Berwick and Will Drevno) picked up this great idea and turned it into the Dreambox. A fully automated 3D printing service for corporations, schools and retail locations.

They managed to simplify the service process to just three steps:

At the moment Dreambox uses FDM 3D printers to create the products and the choice of material is PLA plastic, in the near future there will be additional material options.

The Dreambox makes 3D printing even more accessible than it already is. If you don’t have the time/money to build your own 3D printer and if you don’t want to wait two weeks for your 3D printing order at a service company, the Dreambox is your choice!
